China's major industrial firms saw their profit rebound strongly in August, surging 17.2 percent from a year earlier, in the latest sign of a sustained recovery in the world's second-largest economy.

8月份，全國(guó)規(guī)模以上工業(yè)企業(yè)利潤(rùn)同比增長(zhǎng)17.2%。這是作為世界第二大經(jīng)濟(jì)體的中國(guó)持續(xù)復(fù)蘇的最新跡象。

After a decline of 6.7 percent in July and an 8.3 percent fall in June, this robust growth marks the first increase since the second half of 2022.

這是自去年下半年以來(lái)，工業(yè)企業(yè)當(dāng)月利潤(rùn)首次實(shí)現(xiàn)正增長(zhǎng)。今年7月，工業(yè)企業(yè)利潤(rùn)同比下降6.7%，6月份則下降了8.3%。

As the country's pro-growth policies continued to show their impact last month, industrial production saw a steady recovery, with the improvement in industrial profit gathering momentum, said NBS statistician Yu Weining.

“8月份，隨著一系列推動(dòng)宏觀經(jīng)濟(jì)回升向好政策效果不斷顯現(xiàn)，工業(yè)生產(chǎn)穩(wěn)步回升，企業(yè)利潤(rùn)恢復(fù)明顯加快。”國(guó)家統(tǒng)計(jì)局工業(yè)司統(tǒng)計(jì)師于衛(wèi)寧表示。

In the first eight months of the year, the profits of major industrial firms with annual main business revenue of at least 20 million yuan (about 2.79 million U.S. dollars) reached 4.66 trillion yuan, down 11.7 percent year on year, with the pace of decline narrowing by 3.8 percentage points from the first seven months.

1—8月份，全國(guó)規(guī)模以上工業(yè)企業(yè)（年主營(yíng)業(yè)務(wù)收入在2000萬(wàn)元以上）實(shí)現(xiàn)利潤(rùn)總額46558.2億元，同比下降11.7%，降幅比1—7月份收窄3.8個(gè)百分點(diǎn)。

Of the 41 industrial categories monitored by the bureau, 30 posted better performance in terms of profits during the January-August period.

分行業(yè)看，在41個(gè)工業(yè)大類(lèi)行業(yè)中，有30個(gè)行業(yè)利潤(rùn)增速加快，或降幅收窄、由降轉(zhuǎn)增。

Profit growth for equipment manufacturing was 3.6 percent for the period, accelerating from 1.7 percent registered during the first seven months and leading the overall improvement.

1—8月份，裝備制造業(yè)利潤(rùn)同比增長(zhǎng)3.6%，增速較1—7月份加快1.9個(gè)百分點(diǎn)。裝備制造業(yè)利潤(rùn)增速持續(xù)引領(lǐng)工業(yè)企業(yè)利潤(rùn)穩(wěn)步恢復(fù)。

The combined profit of the country's state-holding enterprises went down 16.5 percent year on year in the first eight months, with the pace of decline narrowing by 3.8 percentage points from the first seven months.

1—8月份，規(guī)模以上工業(yè)企業(yè)中，國(guó)有控股企業(yè)實(shí)現(xiàn)利潤(rùn)總額同比下降16.5%，降幅比1—7月份收窄3.8個(gè)百分點(diǎn)。

Profits of overseas-funded firms and private companies declined 11.1 percent and 4.6 percent, with the pace of declines narrowing 1.3 percentage points and 6.1 percentage points, respectively, from the January-July period.

外商及港澳臺(tái)商投資企業(yè)利潤(rùn)總額下降11.1%，私營(yíng)企業(yè)利潤(rùn)總額下降4.6%；降幅分別比1—7月份收窄1.3個(gè)和6.1個(gè)百分點(diǎn)。

The data released on Wednesday further confirmed that the Chinese economy gained significant momentum last month. This was evident through various positive indicators, including strong factory production and improving consumer sentiment.

周三公布的數(shù)據(jù)進(jìn)一步證實(shí)，上個(gè)月中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)回升向好勢(shì)頭明顯。這一點(diǎn)從各種積極指標(biāo)中得到佐證，包括工業(yè)生產(chǎn)穩(wěn)步回升，消費(fèi)者情緒持續(xù)改善。
